AOCRA National Marathons 2023: Mooloolaba, Sunshine Coast

The coastal town of Mooloolaba on the beautiful Sunshine Coast recently played host to the thrilling 2023 Australian Outrigger Canoe Racing Association (AOCRA) National Outrigger competition.

From fierce rivalries to spectacular displays of skill and teamwork, the event brought together paddlers from across the nation to test their mettle on the water.

Bayside Outrigger Canoe Club proudly represented our region, showcasing the dedication and determination that make our club so exceptional.

Our own Bayside Outrigger Canoe Club sent a strong contingent of paddlers to the competition, each ready to showcase their skills and dedication. The team’s hard work and training paid off, as they achieved outstanding results across multiple events.

The success of the 2023 AOCRA National Outrigger competition in Mooloolaba extends beyond the medals won. It showcased the true spirit of outrigger canoeing, where sportsmanship, teamwork, and a love for the water converge. The event demonstrated the enduring passion that drives outrigger enthusiasts, and it further inspired Bayside Outrigger Canoe Club members to continue their pursuit of excellence in the sport.

Looking Ahead

As we reflect on the 2023 AOCRA National Outrigger competition, the Bayside Outrigger Canoe Club is eager to carry this momentum forward. We are inspired by the achievements of our fellow paddlers and motivated to push our limits even further. With upcoming events on our calendar, including regional and competitions and training seminars, we will continue to grow as a club and strive for success both on and off the water.

Bayside Outrigger Canoe Club’s strong performance and the sense of camaraderie experienced throughout the event exemplifies the spirit of this remarkable sport. As we look towards the future, we are excited to build on this success and continue paddling towards new triumphs.

Bayside Outrigger Canoe Club (Bayside OCC) is a great sporting club based in the Redland Bay, paddling the beautiful waters of Raby Bay, Cleveland. Our aim is to create a family orientated club, focused on fun, fitness, pride and respect.
